Learning Difficulties
Dr. Tomatis made a clear distinction between and listening: hearing is the passive reception of sound while listening is the active participation in what one hears. It is possible to have good hearing, but poor listening. The ear plays a unique and critical role in our daily living.
Autism / Asperger
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) presents a unique set of challenges. Children deal with a wide range of symptoms and require very different treatment plans. Children that have this special blend of social and communication troubles face very unique challenges, especially in over-crowded schools.
Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorders
Though the hearing of most children with learning or attention problems is fine, their listening is problematic resulting in their difficulties to read or pay attention in their study. Listening is the capacity to remember useful sound information and to remove unwanted noise at the same time.
Children and Depression
Depression (major depressive disorder or clinical depression) is a common but serious mood disorder. It causes severe symptoms that affect how you feel, think, and handle daily activities, such as sleeping, eating, or working.
